"Sukoon"
20 in x 40 in
Acrylic on canvas
If there's a clear cut definition and singularity in a painting, it's not the abstract.
Abstract painting is like our life. Within the boundaries of its monotonous nature, it takes a different shape every day. Creates a different mood every hour. Having an abstract painting in your living room may make you feel one with life.
Here's the one I painted for Shweta Lamba who has a very personal relationship with the ocean. "Dekh ke sukoon mehsoos hona chahiye" is what she had said while commissioning the project.
Well, abstract paintings can have more than sukoon in their belly. They can say "hmm" to you. They understand.
They can listen to you. They can laugh with you and cry with you.
The plurality they bring to you is so human-like. Getting an abstract painting for yourself is like befriending a weirdo. We all have done it in our lives. But no one can explain why....!
